About Our CEO - Chef Cory Bloomer aka Chef Corb

“Harlem is My Heart”

Born in Brooklyn, NY, I moved to Harlem when I was nine years old. My grandfather lived in Brooklyn and I have great memories of the man that introduced me to the kitchen, the man that helped create my love for the kitchen. This man had tricks up his sleeve! He would make these amazing butter biscuits that would fill up the air with a smell that would literally make you want to swallow the air. He would say ‘You see these balls of dough here, I want you to watch them and when they rise and turn golden brown, I want you to run to the back and yell “Grandpa, Grandpa, Grandpa”’. Now I realize that this was his way to take a nap while the biscuits baked and browned.

As a kid I would walk with my moms to different parts of Harlem and you can smell the diversity in the food. You went from Spanish, to Mexican, African to the Caribbean; this made me wonder about the soul food I traditionally ate at home.

After attending The Art Institute Management Program focusing on Culinary Arts, I knew I wanted my first job to be in Harlem. I started off at a Taste of Seafood, Ashford and Simpson’s Sugar Bar and  then Harlem’s Red Rooster. These experiences allowed me to see what I wanted for my career and how I was going to accomplish it.

In 2017, with the help of my great business partner and friend Monica Thompson, Corb the Chef Inc. was born. With her business savvy and my kitchen chops, we’re excited to share our love of food with the community. Our goal is to bring back families cooking and eating together and sharing stories together. We’re happy and passionate about our food and service.

We have a variety of appetizers called “Corbentizers”, salads, entrees, desserts, side dishes and other culinary masterpieces from which you can create a memorable and enjoyable meal for your guests. We are also currently certified as a NYC Minority and Women Business Enterprise (MWBE), The New York Women’s Chamber of Commerce (NYWCC), & New York City Small Business Administration (SBA)
